Music and Monarchy: 3. Great British Music.
BBC again -and forever.
Really amazing BBC documentary presented by David Starkey, focused on
music and English and political use of the hand of the monarchy.
As usual with BBC Could programs, the
quality of the content is outstanding, and the music used, in fantástic
performances by some of the more specialized English ensembles, is one
of the best never composed.
The third episode is dedicated to
late baroque masters: Thomas Arne, William Croft, but above all, to the
huge figure of Georg Friedrich Händel.
Enjoy it!
